Spotify is rolling out a new ticketing feature called Reserved this summer, giving select artists the ability to set aside concert tickets specifically for their most dedicated fans. The program will initially launch with a limited number of tours before expanding to artists of all sizes, including some of the year’s highest-demand live shows.

Here’s how the program works:

Eligible fans will receive both an email and an in-app notification when Reserved tickets become available. Spotify is encouraging users to enable concert and event notifications, keep the app updated, and turn on location services to avoid missing offers.

Fans selected for access will be able to purchase up to two tickets during a dedicated sales window lasting roughly 24 hours. Purchases will be completed through Spotify’s ticketing partners.

Reserved access will vary based on tour routing and geography, meaning fans may only receive offers for tours coming through their region. Once selected, however, fans can choose from any eligible date on the tour, selecting their preferred city, venue, and seating options during checkout. Availability and ticket types will differ depending on the show.

The initiative is part of Spotify’s broader push into live music and artist development. The company says touring remains one of the most important ways artists build sustainable careers and deepen relationships with fans. Reserved is designed to help ensure that tickets end up in the hands of genuine listeners rather than resellers or casual buyers.

Spotify has steadily expanded its live-events ecosystem in recent years through partnerships with more than 40 ticketing companies, along with tools like Concerts Near You and Venue Search. The platform also supports tour promotion both on and off the app, efforts the company says have already helped drive more than $1.5 billion in ticket sales globally. Reserved is the latest addition to that strategy, aimed at strengthening the connection between artists and their core audiences.
