On Thursday (Oct. 29), the Maryland Democrat introduced the Antitrust Accountability and Transparency Act, the House companion to a bill Sen. Amy Klobuchar filed in March, shortly after the Justice Department abruptly settled its case against Live Nation in the opening weeks of trial. Raskin was lined up as the House sponsor back then, but this week's rollout leaned hard on fresh revelations about President Trump's role in the deal.
Those revelations landed Oct. 21, when Live Nation amended a court disclosure to acknowledge that Trump briefly appeared at a March 5 White House meeting where company executives and senior administration officials finalized the settlement — terms that let Live Nation keep Ticketmaster. The company's original June filing hadn't mentioned his presence. The amended filing also confirms Trump called CEO Michael Rapino in February about the Kennedy Center and asked where the antitrust case stood. Live Nation maintains no substantive terms came up on that call and that Trump didn't take part in negotiations at the March meeting.
