Podcast and streaming company LiveOne is set to go to trial next March as part of its wild party house lawsuit filed by neighbors of the roughly 6,000-square-foot house on North Beverly Drive was supposed to go to trial in June.

The leadup to the legal fight has been anything but normal. Plaintiffs Michael and Ann Kibler want jurors to hear about alleged insurance fraud, aleged illegal legal manuever, shady equity research companies, colorful CEO Robert Ellin's text messages, and a court finding that LiveOne's former lawyer advised the company to remove evidence before an inspection. LiveOne's lawyers say the case is a nuisance dispute, and that most of that material is about lawyers and litigation tactics that have no place in front of a jury.

Decibel reviewed 13 filings from June through August 2026 in Kibler v. LiveOne, Inc., in Los Angeles Superior Court case before Judge Michael E. Whitaker to provide readers with an update on this wild trial — just one of a half-dozen LiveOne is fighting in LA court.

The Kiblers, who live next door, sued on May 10, 2024. Their lawyers at Kibler Fowler & Cave allege that LiveOne and its affiliates turned 516 N. Beverly Drive into a commercial office, event space and podcast and music recording studio in a residential zone.
