Ontario has gone on the offensive just months after passing sweeping legislation cracking down on the ticketing resale market.

On Thursday, the provincial government publicly identified StubHub and SeatGeek as companies it alleges violated Ontario's new ticket resale rules, placing both firms on a government "consumer beware" list and issuing compliance orders. Notably, Ontario officials have not publicly disclosed the specific violations, but the move marks the first major enforcement action under the province's newly enacted ticket resale regime.
