Longtime Co-Presidents John Moore and Jim Glancy are stepping aside from their roles running New York-based Bowery Presents, Decibel News has learned. It’s unclear why the mean are leaving, but multiple sources have hinted that AEG has opted not to renew the men’s contracts, ten years after buying the company Moore cofounded in 2004.
Officials at AEG confirmed the news, noting that Josh Bhatti, Charley Magrew, Andrew Martin, and Josh Moore have each been promoted to Senior Vice President “and will collectively assume leadership of the company.” Magrew will lead on marketing, ticketing, sponsorship and venue initiatives based out of the company’s New York office, and Moore will oversee talent, also based out of New York. Martin, based in Nashville, will have oversight of business and legal affairs. Bhatti will run the Boston-based New England office – previously reporting into Glancy and Moore – as a standalone regional promoter. The four executives will report to Brent Fedrizzi, President, North American Regional Offices for AEG Presents.
AEG released a statement from Moore and Glancy, reading ““Founding The Bowery Presents and partnering together to grow the company has been an incredibly rewarding chapter for us,” according to a joint statement. “We’re proud of what we’ve built alongside an extraordinary team and grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey. Andrew, Charley, Josh and Josh, have made significant contributions to The Bowery Presents during their respective tenures, so it’s gratifying to see them all take this next step together. We’re leaving the company in capable hands.”
For his part, Fedrizzi added “AEG Presents is forever indebted to Jim and John for their contributions over their nine years at the company. The Bowery Presents is a renowned, internationally recognized brand that has been instrumental in so many artists’ careers, and it was important for us to find the right group of people that can steward the company into this important next phase. Being able to do this from within the ranks is a testament to the culture that Jim and John have built, and I couldn’t be happier for Andrew, Charley, Josh, and Josh.”
