🇨🇦 Canadian Promoter Says Live Nation Took Over Jonas Brothers Date
Indie promoter Jim Cressman of Invictus Entertainment, an independent concert promotion company based in Penticton, British Columbia, says Live Nation muscled its way into a Jonas Brothers stadium show he had booked in Moncton, New Brunswick, taking over the date after he had confirmed the show with United Talent Agency.
Takeaway: Live Nation leaned on its global touring deal to effectively steal his work product and acted out of bounds in taking the Jonas Brothers date away from him.
“If Live Nation continues to leverage touring deals in all global territories, then the inevitable outcome is a concert industry monopoly in Canada,”

Judge Tells Live Nation to Check Itself Before It Wrecks Itself
A federal judge denied Ticketmaster's parent company's emergency request to immediately vacate the jury's damages verdict — and took the opportunity to call out defense counsel for uncivil rhetoric
A federal judge has rejected Live Nation’s attempt to fast-track its effort to overturn the jury’s damages award in the blockbuster antitrust case, while delivering a pointed warning about the tone of the company’s legal filings.
In an order issued April 20, Judge Arun Subramanian denied the motion to expedite, saying the court will address the underlying dispute “in due course.” He also admonished counsel for rhetoric he said strayed from the court’s standards of civility, calling it “counterproductive” and a distraction from the merits.

AEG Fights Sanctions Threat in Live Nation Antitrust Trial
A bitter side dispute in the blockbuster antitrust case against Live Nation Entertainment and its subsidiary Ticketmaster has escalated into a showdown over potential sanctions.
In a newly filed response to an order to show cause, AEG argues it acted “lawfully, ethically, and appropriately” when it provided confidential employment documents about former executive Rick Mueller to government lawyers — insisting the entire sanctions dispute rests on a “false premise” that it violated California law.
