Look past the headliners on this fall's festival posters and a smaller story starts to repeat itself. Of the nine major U.S. and Mexico festivals running between now and the end of 2026, only four — Riot Fest, Bumbershoot, Mempho, and Suwannee Hulaween — are still promoted independently. The rest trace back to three companies: Danny Wimmer Presents, which runs Louisville's Louder Than Life and Bourbon & Beyond back-to-back on the same fairgrounds and now sells a combined "Exacta Pass" spanning both; Live Nation, which co-produces Eddie Vedder's Ohana Festival through SGE; and OCESA, the Mexican promoter behind Corona Capital, itself part of Live Nation's international footprint and Shaky Knees. The pattern isn't new, but the packaging is getting more deliberate — bundled passes, tiered VIP pricing, and presale gates that reward loyalty to a single promoter's ecosystem over festival-hopping.
